Plot

It is about Gopi (Gopichand) who travels from Italy to Hyderabad by flight to meet Sameera (Kavya Thapar) his lover. Soon in the journey, a twist unmasks Gopi as Viswam. The play then shifts to the source showcasing Viswam on a mission to save a school-going girl named Darshana from the terrorists and subsequently revealing the unseen link between the two characters. This is what turns the simple reunion into a high-stakes mission as Viswam must deal with his past and make sure Darshana is safe. The motion picture is full of suspense, and in this photo, there are many twists, and at the end of it, there are so many revealers that come with a bang.

Performance

Gopichand excels in the dual role of the T, delivering Gopi’s magic and Viswam’s muscleman look. His excellent on-screen performance in action and drama is very impressive. Kavya Thapar is glamorous and looks the part while handling romantic scenes with ease and has fair chemistry with Gopichand. Jisshu Sengupta performs well despite the constraints of a supporting character while Sunil, Naresh, Vennela Kishore, and others make for a good comedy which is one of the film’s biggest plus points. Prudhvi in his cameo is laughter and truly enriches the movie as far as entertainment is concerned.

Direction and Screenplay

Sreenu Vaitla tries to make it a full-on action comedy but fails as Viswam lacks a gripping story, especially in the second half. Although there is not much to complain about the character of Viswam and some action sequences that surround him, the movie plot nearly entirely fails to deliver novelty and tension. While, based on the experience of Vaitla the film does not lose interest but due to the problem of pacing. Besides the rays of black comedy, Gopichand’s flashback episode and some hero-villain mind games give substance but are too sketchy to allow feeling the power of such key scenes.

Music

Chaitan Bharadwaj’s tune complements the high-voltage scenes of Viswam and for Gopichand’s muscular demeanor, there is a suitable background score. The music successfully supports the feeling of the film but unfortunately, it is not very interesting and could have been more appreciated if the film had an appealing music to serve as the added intensity and emotion of the film.

Theme

In its essence, Viswam is about AM identity, duty, and courage. The Pacific movie poses issues about the safety of close ones and dealing with a past event. The protagonist of Gopichand has been portraying these aspects of the movie – be it loyalty and bravery or complicated relations and subterfuge. Humorous aspects are depicted parallel to these factors, crudely portraying human relationships and the conflict between responsibility and affection.

Conclusion

All in all, Viswam stands halfway right as an action comedy because of the energetic Gopichand and smart comedy scenes by Sreenu Vaitla. It has a weak storyline, and a slow second half, but the action moments and the laughs are quite serviceable. So for the audience who wants to see a light-hearted action film with reasonable expectations on iBomma then Viswam can be watched for the star cast, comedy, and action, but it doesn’t make the mark of a powerful comeback that was expected both from Gopichand and Sreenu Vaitla.
