Plot

Bhale Unnade is the story of Radha, a brilliant saree draper from Visakhapatnam, who has a remarkable attribute – he does not like to come in contact with women, and thus he is a pariah among his people. This quirky behavior also puts pressure on those ties, predominantly with Krishna, a bank employee depicted by Manisha Kandkur, who is associated with Radha via Gowri (played by Abhirami). Engaged couple Radha and Krishna develop feelings for one another right, but weird things start happening, and Krishna wonders whether they should be together.

The movie develops like Krishna trying to understand the behavior of Radha and why she sleeps away from him as well as the hidden past of Radha’s mother contains the clue. The protagonist cannot trust his own eyes or instincts due to a lack of ‘truth’ throughout his upbringing as well as need for love cannot be fulfilled, ISOLATION came to an end because of burying the family history.

Performance

Raj Tarun has to play a layered character which needs a lot of underplaying. The actor does justice to Radha’s idiosyncrasies and her weaknesses, having minimized his association with action roles. Abhirami Gopikumar who plays the character of Gowri, Radha’s mother, has given ample depth to the bhale unnade with her motherly affectionate and haunted look. Her performance in the flashback sequences brings out the necessary emotion to the story.

Manisha Kandukur, on the same note, is slightly uncomfortable playing the part of Krishna. Her character is always animated and her energy is contrary to the movie’s theme; she can even deviate from the main plot. Comedy is supplemented by VTV Ganesh and Hyper Aadi, while Leela Samson and Singeetham Srinivas Rao lend the film’s leading cast a touch of class, even though they seem to have been wasted.

Direction and Screenplay

Sivasai Vardhan directing a unique story spoils the chance of reaching its best by a long shot. Some of the aspects of Radha’s oddity are never explained in the screenplay and in some cases, the audience is not even answered by the end. However, the movie tries to add some comedy to drama as well as deep feelings in the story, but the structure of the film fails to create significant dramatic influence.

Even the characters intended to provide audiences with the feelings side of the story are not developed fully, and people would love to know more details about the characters, and their background; for instance, more information about Radha’s life is needed.

Music

The musical given by Shekar Chandra for Bhale Unnade is romantic as well as comedic in harmony with the movie’s script. Of course, it is not remarkable music, yet it is useful for making the atmosphere in the movie more suitable for creating an exceptional mood in certain scenes. However, it does not assume the position of the film’s motivation and can be partially criticized like the plot twists of the film.

Theme

The movie portfolio contains the issues of trust, family relationships, and personal attempts to make true amends with one’s history. Such an approach of Radha interacting with people and avoiding any forms of touch betray an underlying problem rooted in his family history challenging the society on how experiences from one’s past inform his/her interpersonal space. There is also an indication of the modern relationship issues as understood and patient partners are challenged by individual idiosyncrasies and issues. However, the story shifts somewhat undermine the theme.

Conclusion

The movie Bhale Unnade may sound great on paper and Raj Tarun and Abhirami are good but the problem is in direction. A thematic disappointing failure is attributable to the presence of a weak character arc and an unconvincing lead female character. VTV Ganesh and Hyper Aadi have tried to sprinkle some comedy in the movie but that is a little too late and far in between also there is much comical and half-baked storytelling which added to the fulfilling ending.

Although the program has a quite interesting concept and interesting characters, its narrative is somehow unbalanced, and therefore, asks more questions than it answers. While cinema-goers familiar with Raj Tarun may like this peculiar part that he plays, it won’t probably have a profound impact. If you really want to watch it, then, visit now on iBomma.
