Plot

The plot revolves around a man called Karthik (Sai Ronak), who is a programmer, who is smitten by the beauty of a girl he has come across as Shanti (Amrita Chaudhary). Karthik does all he can to make Shanti interested in him and even goes to the extent of expressing the same feeling. However, his attempts to court her with a view of winning her love, experience a lot of turns whenever other players from his past appear, projecting ill feelings towards his lover.

When the story of Karthik starts revealing his background, the viewers are offered some concerns about the relationships between the two main characters. Has Shanti met Karthik before? What does Karthik have to do with a secret agency and what is the meaning of a ‘time mission’ that ties to the story? Rewind transforms the audience and travels through time to find out if Karthik can find out about his past and present to turn into a love story.

Performance

Sai Ronak is very good as Karthik who plays the passionate lover of the girl he loves to the core. His moves and acting reflect Karthik’s emotional cricket which gives out much-needed authenticity to the character. Amrita Chaudhary aka Shanti Rajan has done a beautiful job as her character is lovable and the way she handles the character is quite touching. Suresh as a senior actor essays the role of a man with a lot of sensitivity and lends a lot of depth to the film, his act forms an emotional backbone to the film.

Other supporting artists such as Jabardast Nagi, KA Paul Ram, Abhishek Vishwakarma, and Fun Bucket Rajesh who are a part of the movie also come up really well and suit the light and serious portions of the movie appropriately.

Direction and Screenplay

The movie directed by Kalyan Chakraborty something that blends the romantic genre and science fiction, the fresh theme of the movie is time travel. Chakraborty gets the time-travel portions right and comes up with some good scenes. But sometimes the screenplay gets slow and it is more evident as the story unfolds. The first idea of time travel is excellent, but its execution in the second part is rather poor. Some scenes of the time machine could have done with more tension, and suspense to prevent the audience from losing its bait.

Music

Aashirwad’s songs and tunes by Tushara Pala are very helpful in providing a romantic and coziness to the science fiction film and they enrich the film with full emotions of love. The background music is useful in creating the suspenseful demeanor of the time-travel scenes and on some occasions could have been more exciting to accompany the dramatic moments of the movie. On balance, the soundtrack is suitable for the movie to work out two major motifs – love and thriller.

Theme

Rewind has themes of love, destiny, and another chance or another shot. To some extent, the unfathomed past reveals how it can influence the present and to what extent a man to try to depict himself as what he is not. The plot of the movie, of course, connects these themes quite hackly but the concept of time travel helps the movie to be interesting even if the development of the themes is not very deep. The movie can think over the philosophical and ethical consequences of time traveling in better detail, which in turn, will diversify the movie’s motifs.

Conclusion

As for me, Rewind is an interesting movie that can be attributed to romance films, but there is a small component of science–fiction because of the time traveling. But with the remarkable acting by Sai Ronak and Amrita Chaudhary and that romantic track, the movie has its fun moments. , a simplified plot with some omissions in the events’ correlation, as well as some slowdowns of the pace, prevent it from being remarkable. Although the movie is successful in providing a new storyline to the Telugu cinema the audience may feel that the movie lacks emotional depth and character arc. So, watch this film on iBomma.
